19 December 2024 – The Embassy was invited to visit Minamidaira Senior High School in Hino City, Tokyo, as part of its ongoing public diplomacy initiatives. Represented by Mr. Jeffry Meyer, First Secretary (Information & Public Relations), the Embassy conducted an engaging 1-hour lecture for approximately 320 students. The programme aimed to promote greater understanding of Malaysia’s rich cultural heritage, diverse ethnicity, and dynamic role in regional and global affairs.
During the lecture, students were introduced to Malaysia's rich history, vibrant traditions, and multicultural identity, with an emphasis on the values of harmony, tolerance, and respect. The students also had the opportunity to learn basic phrases in Malay language, fostering a sense of connection and curiosity about the country.
The visit concluded with an engaging Q&A session and interactive quizzes. The event underscored the importance of fostering cultural exchanges to build bridges between young generations in Malaysia and Japan.
