18 October 2024 – Mr. Jeffry Meyer, First Secretary (Information & Public Relations) of the Embassy, visited Sarugaku Elementary School located in Shibuya, Japan as part of a public diplomacy programme. Around 50 students participated and listened to a presentation on Malaysia’s rich cultural diversity. The interactive session allowed the students to ask questions, deepening their engagement and understanding.
A drumming workshop was also held in collaboration with a Malaysian musical group, Kantan Drum Circle (Kandora). The students learned to play music alongside Kandora and sang several Malaysian folk songs, including “Jong-Jong Inai”, “Nenek-Nenek Si Bongkok Tiga” and “Rasa Sayang”. The workshop not only introduced Malaysian music but also encouraged active participation, making it a memorable cultural exchange experience for the students.
