30 July 2025 – The Embassy of Malaysia in Japan had the pleasure of welcoming a delegation of 20 students and teachers from Namiki Secondary School, Ibaraki Prefecture. The visit was hosted by Mr. Jeffry Meyer, First Secretary (Information & Public Relations), who delivered an informative and engaging presentation on Malaysia. His talk highlighted the country’s cultural diversity, dynamic economic landscape, and its current leadership as Chair of ASEAN, a regional bloc committed to promoting political, economic, and socio-cultural cooperation in Southeast Asia. He also shared Malaysia’s key priorities and vision for its ASEAN Chairmanship in 2025.

The students were also treated to a promotional video on Visit Malaysia Year 2026, showcasing the nation’s scenic beauty, cultural richness, and renowned hospitality. The visit concluded with an interactive activity, where students eagerly took part in a demonstration of “Batu Seremban”, a traditional Malay game.

The programme offered the students a valuable opportunity to deepen their understanding of Malaysia’s cultural heritage and its prominent role in regional affairs. The Embassy looks forward to hosting more student visits in the future as part of its ongoing public diplomacy and youth engagement efforts.
