26 February 2023 – The Embassy of Malaysia in Tokyo was invited to give a public lecture on “Multicultural Co-Existence in Malaysia: Diversity is Strength for Progress”, organised by MAY Asaka Center, a non-profit organization based in Asaka City.
Mr. Md Jeffry Joe Meyer, Second Secretary (Information and Public Relations) of the Embassy of Malaysia, Tokyo, delivered the aforementioned lecture to around 30 participants including students from Jumonji University.
MAY Asaka Center, whose objective to promote lifelong learning to the local community, is one of the most active NGOs in Japan. It has initiated many activities to promote people-to-people engagement between Malaysia and Japan. “Friendly Relationship through Pictures” – the students drawing exchange programme between Malaysia and Japan initiated since 1987, was one of the most successful activities thus far. Some drawings by Malaysian students were also exhibited during the event.
