27 February 2023 – Ms. Salfarina Salim, Minister-Counsellor of the Embassy of Malaysia in Tokyo, attended the Reporting Session for the Japan-ASEAN Youth Leaders Exchange Program held at Tokyo Bay Ariake Washington Hotel. The programme was organized by the Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths (JENESYS), under the Japan International Cooperation Centre (JICE).

 

During the event, five groups of participants from ASEAN countries (including Timor-Leste) and Japan presented their reports on various aspects based on their observations during the six-day program. At the end of the event, an Official Declaration, led by Mr. Saran Raj of Malaysia was presented to the Deputy Director, Regional Cooperation Division, Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Japan.

 

JENESYS is a programme to promote people-to-people exchange between Japan and the Southeast Asian countries. Since 2007, JENESYS has benefitted more than 36,000 youths and fostered mutual trust and understanding between Japan and Southeast Asian countries. Congratulations and all the best to all 10 participants from Malaysia – Fatiha (UniKL), Iskandar (UniSZA), Ally (UOC), Saran (IUMW), Ker Ming (MMU Melaka), Baiti (UKM), Fairuz (UNIMAS), Hana (USIM), Rhea (UPM) and Najwa (UiTM).
