On 24 December 2010, members of The Embassy of Malaysia Club namely the Home-based Staff (HBS) and Locally Recruited Staff (LRS) of the Embassy as well as Malaysian agencies in Tokyo, i.e. MIDA, MATRADE and Tourism Malaysia gathered for the Year-End Party organized by The Club which was also attended by Patron of The Club, His Excellency Datuk Shaharuddin Md. Som.
Performances by the LRS were the highlight of the evening whereby some of the LRS showcased their hidden talents, from playing musical instruments such as fue (Japanese flute) and violin to singing enka (Japanese music genre). One of the longest serving members of The Club, Ms. Hiroe Takasaki put up a mesmerizing performance of Nihon Buyo (Japanese traditional dance). Members’ flexibility and agility were put to test at game time, i.e. Limbo Rock and Musical Chair. The Club members also had the opportunity to show their vocal stylings during karaoke session.
The Year-End Party was a delightful way to close another chapter of what has been an eventful year of 2010 as members of The Embassy of Malaysia Club in Tokyo renew their friendship and esprit de corps, ushering into a new year.
