On 15 February 2013, TYT Ambassador Datuk Shaharuddin Md. Som was invited by the Saitama Prefecture Government to deliver a keynote address at the 3rd Saitama Asia Forum at the Saitama Chamber of Commerce and Industry Hall. The event was organized by the Saitama Prefecture Government to provide the latest information on vibrant countries of Asia and to explore the development of Saitama Prefecture through its interactions with the rapidly growing Asian economies.
Approximately 200 people comprising of the bureaucrats, industrialists and businessmen as well as members of the local community and NGOs attended the event. In his address, TYT Datuk Duta Besar apprised the audience on bilateral relations between Malaysia and Japan and on the economic and investment opportunities that could be undertaken by the Saitama Prefecture.
Apart from the keynote address, a presentation on the investment opportunities was made by the Director of MIDA Tokyo, followed by a panel discussion session on “Potentials of Asian and Muslim market Development with Malaysia as a Base”.
