29 May-3 June 2023 – H.E. Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, Minister of Investment, Trade, and Industry undertook a working visit to Tokyo and Osaka, Japan. During the visit, H.E. Dato’ Shahril Effendi Abd Ghany, Ambassador of Malaysia to Japan had the opportunity to participate in the Trade and Investment Mission (TIM) led by H.E. Minister.
During the TIM, H.E. Minister, H.E. Ambassador Dato’ as well as officials from the Ministry of Investment, Trade, and Industry (MITI), Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) and Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) had a fruitful discussion with several Japanese conglomerates to establish and expand their business in Malaysia.
Overall, the mission had successfully secured a total of RM23.07 billion potential investment and RM2.1 billion potential exports of products and services to Japan.
