On 4 June 2026, H.E. Ambassador Mohd Adli Abdullah received a courtesy call from H.E. Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Le, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam to the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Le has recently assumed his duties in Astana, succeeding H.E. Pham Thai Nhu Mai, who completed her tour of duty last year. Prior to his appointment, Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Le served in various diplomatic capacities, including postings in Taiwan and China.
During the meeting, both Ambassadors exchanged views on matters of mutual interest, including potential areas for enhanced cooperation in Kazakhstan. Discussions also focused on strengthening collaboration under the framework of the Astana ASEAN Committee (AAC), which plays an important role in promoting ASEAN’s identity, visibility, and interests in Kazakhstan.
The Embassy of Malaysia in Kazakhstan warmly welcomes H.E. Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Le as a fellow ASEAN colleague in Astana. Malaysia remains confident that the AAC will continue to play a constructive role in advancing ASEAN’s presence in Kazakhstan, while further strengthening cooperation between ASEAN Member States and the host country.
