Malawakil Seoul, represented by its Deputy Chief of Mission, participated in the 21st International Fire & Safety Expo Korea 2025 which took place at EXCO Daegu on 28 & 29 May 2025. More than 400 local and international exhibitors ran 1,500 booths across a 30,000 square metres exhibition area. Other than Malaysia, diplomats from Mongolia, United Arab Emirates and Uzbekistan, to name a few, were also present. In his opening remarks, Commissioner Heo Seok-Gon, Fire Commissioner from the National Fire Agency under the Ministry of Interior and Safety (MOIS) underscored the importance and relevance of the Fire & Safety Expo by drawing examples to the complexities and challenges faced by national fire agencies across the globe whereby the danger posed by climate crisis and the rise of super skyscrapers called for revised precautionary and tech-based safety system to be adopted. There were numerous briefings and presentations made throughout the two-day programme in addition to a site visit to the National 119 Rescue Headquarters.
