On 16 July 2025, His Excellency Dato’ Mohd Zamruni Khalid, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Republic of Korea (ROK) had an interview session with JoongAng Daily at The Makan, a Malaysian cuisine restaurant located in Jamsil, a busy commercial hub.
The discussion primarily focused on the multifaceted relationship between Malaysia, ASEAN, and the ROK, highlighting Malaysia’s strategic priorities in strengthening bilateral ties with the ROK under the leadership of President Lee Jae Myung. Key topics included enhancing cooperation in trade, technology, and cultural exchange to further deepen the partnership between the two nations.
Ambassador Zamruni also took the opportunity to introduce some of Malaysia’s most iconic and beloved culinary dishes, such as Nasi Goreng, Nasi Lemak, and Satay, emphasising how Malaysia’s rich food heritage reflects its cultural diversity and serves as a bridge for fostering greater mutual understanding between Malaysia and the Republic of Korea.
