On 9 February 2026, His Excellency Dato' Mohd Zamruni Khalid, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Republic of Korea (ROK) hosted a luncheon in honour of former ROK ambassadors to Malaysia. The luncheon was joined by Ambassador Yang Bong-ryul (16th Amb of ROK to Malaysia), Ambassador Lee Yong-joon (17th Ambassador of ROK to Malaysia), Ambassador Cho Byung-jae (18th Ambassador of ROK to Malaysia), Ambassador Dr Yu Hyun-seok (19th Ambassador of ROK to Malaysia) and Ambassador Lee Chi-beom (21st Ambassador of ROK to Malaysia).
His Excellency took the opportunity to connect with the delegation, exchanging views on matters of mutual interest while reminiscing about the former Ambassadors' tenures in Malaysia, which have collectively served as the foundation for the enduring diplomatic ties currently enjoyed by both nations. These shared memories underscored the continuity of the Malaysia–ROK partnership, highlighting how the personal dedication of these diplomats has woven a resilient fabric of cooperation that continues to support the modern bilateral relationship today.
