13TH GLOBAL WAQF CONFERENCE IN RABAT
Rabat, 25 November 2025 - Ambassador Dato’ Shahabudeen Adam Shah participated in the opening ceremony of the 13th Global Waqf Conference (GWC), held at the Dar El-Hadith El-Hassania Institute, Al-Qarawiyyin University in Rabat from 25 to 27 November 2025. The conference with the theme “Reengineering the Waqf Ecosystem: Governance Innovations for Institutional Resilience and Adaptability,” was hosted by the Dar El-Hadith El-Hassania Institute, Al-Qarawiyyin University, in collaboration with the World Zakat & Waqf Forum, the Department of Awqaf, Zakat and Hajj (JAWHAR), Yayasan Waqaf Malaysia (YWM), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), and Universiti Tun Abdul Razak (UNIRAZAK). The conference was officiated by His Excellency Mr. Ahmed Toufiq, Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs of the Kingdom of Morocco. YB Senator Dato’ Setia Dr. Haji Mohd Na’im bin Haji Mokhtar, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs), delivered a pre-recorded Keynote Address.
