The Dean of the ASEAN Committee in Rabat (ACR), H.E. E.D. Ambassador E.D. Syarief Syamsuri of the Republic of Indonesia , led a joint ACR courtesy call on H.E. Mrs Miriem Bensalah Charqoun, President of the Confederation of General Enterprises in Morocco on 10 June 2016 at Casablanca. Other ACR members accompanying Ambassador Syamsuri were H.E. Suphorn Pholmani of Thailand, H.E. Hj Hipni Matarsad, Charge de Affairres of Brunei Darussalam and H.E. Dato’ Jamal Hassan, Ambassador of Malaysia. The delegation was warmly welcome by the President of CGEM.
2. During the call, the President was informed of the recently establishment of the ACR this year as well as its objectives to promote and enhance relations and linkages between ASEAN and Morocco. The President welcome the joint-call by the ACR and took note of its formation. During the meeting, the President hope that more collaborations could be held between CGEM and ASEAN. She also hoped that the proposed ASEAN-Morocco Forum/Seminar could serve as a platform of awareness of ASEAN amongst Moroccans. She also stressed the need to have a tangible outcome from the proposed Forum/seminar for the mutual benefit of ASEAN and Morocco.
