YB Dato’ Sri Mustapa Mohamed, Minister for International Trade and Industry (MITI) visited Myanmar on 22-27 February 2012, to lead a Trade and Investment Mission in Yangon and also attended the Asean Economic Ministerial Retreat in Nay Pyi Taw. The Trade and Investment Mission consisted of a seminar and business-matching session at the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI) on 24th February. It was a successful event that was attended by more than 300 people. More than 90 Malaysians representing about 40 companies took part in the mission. The rest of the attendees were representatives of Myanmar companies. YB Minister also took the opportunity to meet and greet the Malaysian community in Yangon at a dinner on 22nd February.
