GUIDELINE FOR RETURNING TO MALAYSIA

 

All passengers travelling into Malaysia must bear the cost of quarantine for a period of seven to 10 days at Quarantine Stations. Travel guidance for Malaysia is as follows:

  • Effective from 14 December 2020, the quarantine period will be reduced to seven days for passengers who have taken a pre-PCR test within 72 hours prior to arrival in Malaysia.
  • Without the pre-PCR test, passengers are still permitted to enter Malaysia but are subjected to a PCR test on arrival and 10-day quarantine.
  • Passengers are no longer required to submit the Letter of Undertaking and Indemnity (LoU) for arrival in Malaysia effective from 1 May 2021.
  • Foreign nationals must apply for a written permission from the Immigration Department of Malaysia before travelling into Malaysia, while international students must obtain a letter of approval from EMGS.
  • Registration of personal details must be made on MySejahtera app three days before departure.
  • The cost of quarantine is RM150.00 per day. Payment can be made at the Quarantine Station, or otherwise, online payment option is available.
  • Foreign nationals must pay management charges of RM2,600.00 in addition to the cost of quarantine.
  • Transportation will be provided from Kuala Lumpur International Airport to Quarantine Station.
