5th December 2013 will be forever remembered by PERWAKILAN Muscat ladies as they had the best hi-tea reception ever at Rumah Malaysia; the official residence of YBhg. Dato’ Rustam Yahaya, Ambassador of Malaysia. Under the able chairmanship of YBhg. Datin Dr. Musrifah Sapardi, she had managed to literally ‘squeeze’ the hi-tea event into the tight schedule of HRH Raja Zarith Sofiah Binti Almarhum Sultan Idris Shah, whom were on a 4 day visit to the Sultanate of Oman from the 4th until 7th December 2013.
Rumah Malaysia stood witness to not only one but three members of the Johor royal family. Making their first grand appearance in Muscat were HRH Raja Zarith Sofiah and her two children; HRH Tunku Tun Aminah and HRH Tunku Jamil whom were also present at the auspicious event. Not wanting to miss out on such important royal event, about 30 PERWAKILAN ladies were at hand to receive the royal guests as the Diwan cars carrying HRH Tunku Raja Zarith Sofiah and her entourage entered the sovereign compound.
HRH Raja Zarith Sofiah, Consort of the Sultan of Johor, was received by YBhg. Datin Dr. Musrifah Sapardi and was presented with a bouquet of flowers. After signing the guest book at the entrance, HRH Tuanku was led to a lineup of PERWAKILAN Muscat ladies and took some time to interact whilst being officially introduced to them. Those present were so touched by the humble and graceful nature of the Johor royal family household as they interacted with ease and blended well with the PERWAKILAN ladies.
The fact that HRH Tuanku took the time and effort to attend the event after such a hectic day; attending two official functions beforehand, left a big impact on the Malaysian ladies lucky enough to rub shoulders with the royal family. And being in close distance to a beautiful princess, which for a second resembled an Omani princess in her daring red abaya, such as HRH Tunku Tun Aminah will remain forever etched in memory. HRH Tunku Jamil, being a thorn among the roses at the main table, was every inch the charming and dashing young prince he is.
The royal guests and all present at the hi-tea event were served an array of food as well as traditional Malay kuih; courtesy of PERWAKILAN Muscat ladies. The menu consisted of roti jala and chicken curry, fried noodle, karipap, kuih ketayap and teh tarik. Although the royal presence was short-lived due to the next official engagement, the royal aura lingers way after the royal family made their way into their official cars and left the compound. With countless of candid snapshots and official photo sessions taken throughout the event, this day is by far the best ending of a very exciting year for PERWAKILAN Muscat ladies.
