On 10 - 11 April 2026, Consul General of Malaysia, Mr. Deddy Faisal Ahmad Salleh attended the National Solidarity Conference for Palestine & Call for Peace in the Middle East held at the Acacia Hotel, Davao City. The conference was organised by several non-governmental organisations (NGOs) namely the Mindanao People’s Caucus, League of Bangsamoro Organizations, Peacebuilders Community Inc., Handala Project, SENTRO and Initiatives for International Dialogue.
The conference aimed to advocate for peace, uphold respect for International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights and support the global call to end the conflict in the Middle East, with particular emphasis on the protection of civilians especially women and children.
On the sidelines of the conference, the Consul General also met with Malaysian representatives namely Dr. Fauziah Mohd Hasan, Ms. Mas Ahmad Jonid and Ms. Norsham Abu Bakar who were participating in the conference as representatives of Malaysian NGOs.
