Secretary General and ASEAN SOM Leader for Malaysia, Dato’ Sri Amran Mohamed Zin led the Malaysian delegation to the 22nd ASEAN-Russia Senior Officials’ Meeting, held in Kazan on 21 April 2026.
The Meeting reviewed progress in implementing the ASEAN-Russia Comprehensive Plan of Action (CPA) 2021-2025, developments on the new CPA 2026-2030, and efforts to further strengthen the ASEAN-Russia Strategic Partnership through cooperation in trade and investment, energy, digital, counter-terrorism, science and technology, and people-to-people exchanges.
The Meeting also deliberated on current regional and international developments, including the situation in the Middle East.
