The Prime Minister of Malaysia, the Honourable Dato' Sri Najib Tun Razak has appointed Datuk Anifah Aman (pic) as the new Foreign Minister of Malaysia as part of the new 28-member Cabinet. The announcement was made on 9 April 2009 at the Prime Minister's Office and was carried live by national media channels.
Datuk Anifah had previously held the post of Deputy Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities from 2004-2008 under former Prime Minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.
Former Foreign Minister, Dr. Rais Yatim has been appointed as the Minister of Information, Unity, Culture and Arts.
