Visit of Y.Bhg. Tan Sri Ahmad Fuzi Haji Abdul Razak, Secretary General of the WIEF to the Russian Federation

Y.Bhg. Tan Sri Ahmad Fuzi, former Secretary General of Wisma Putra made a working visit to Moscow for the 3rd World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF) Roundtable at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Moscow on 13 April 2011. The roundtable was held in conjunction of the next 7th World International Economic Forum which will be held in Astana, Kazakhstan from 7 until 9 June 2011. Y.Bhg. Tan Sri Ahmad Fuzi, the Secretary General of the WIEF, mentioned in his welcome remarks speech that the Roundtable is jointly organized with the Halal Development Corporation (HDC) Malaysia which focuses on the growing business opportunities in the Halal products industry and new markets for Islamic banking and finance. The Halal product sector, Islamic banking and finance are attracting a lot of interest in Russia and the WIEF is inviting large number of participants from the Russian Federation to participate in the coming 7th WIEF in Kazakhstan. Y.Bhg. Dato’ Zainol Abidin Omar, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Russian Federation made a presentation on behalf of Y.Bhg. Datuk Seri Mr. Jamil Bidin, the Chief Executive Officer of HDC. The other invited speakers were Dr. Alberto G. Brugoni, the Founder and Chairman of the Board, Association for the Development of Alternative and Innovative Financial Instrument, Italy, Dr. Adalet Djabiev, the Founder and CEO of Al-Shams Capital in Russia, Mr. Abas Bin A. Jalil, Chief Operating Officer, International Business from Amanah Raya Capital and Miss Madina Kalimunilla, the Director of Economic Department at the Russian Muftis Council.
