Riyadh - 30 November 2008
Y.Bhg. Datuk Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor, the Malaysian Astronaut was in Riyadh for 3 days with his family on invitation of HRH Prince Sultan bin Salman.
Local newspapers in Saudi Arabia reported that Datuk Sheikh Muszaphar has set a positive example for the Muslim world. Speaking to a packed audience on 30 November 2008 at the King Abdul Aziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), Datuk Sheikh Muszaphar unveiled that he was inspired by HRH Prince Sultan, who is the first Muslim astronaut who went into space in 1985.
Ambassador's Residence
The lecture entitled "The Glory of Islam in Space - True Journey and Experience" has inspired many of Saudis especially students join the space mission in near future. Datuk Sheikh Muszaphar in his speech, did mentioned that the Muslim world, which boasts of its past achievements in science, medicine and mathematics, should bring back its lost glory.
Earlier that day, H.E. Assoc. Prof. Syed Omar Al Saggaf, Ambassador of Malaysia in Riyadh hosted a lunch for Datuk Sheikh Muszapahar and his delegation at the Ambassador's Residence in Diplomatic Quarter and joined by all Embassy's staffs.
