The ASEAN Gathering 2018 was held on 20 June 2018 at the Chancery Building. This event was jointly organised by the ASEAN embassies in Sweden, which comprises of Malaysia, Indonesia, Laos, Thailand and Viet Nam and the Trade Representative of the Philippines. The main objective of the event was to introduce ASEAN’s food and culture to the guests and also an opportunity for officers, staffs and families of all ASEAN embassies to get to know each other, broaden their network and at the same time, enjoy the cuisine that the six countries have to offer.
After the opening remarks by the Ambassador of Vietnam, H.E. Doan Thi Phuong Dung the current Chair of the ASEAN Committee in Stockholm, the event officially commenced with dinner. Guests was entertained by live keyboard played by Indonesian Ambassador, H.E Bagas Hapsoro with few medley English song and also performances from each of the ASEAN Embassy. The event was also attended by Swedish Counterparts including representatives from MOFA’s Protocol Department and Head of Mission of Regional Departments related to ASEAN Members. The ASEAN Gathering has further instilled the spirit of friendship, solidarity and cooperation among ASEAN embassies and local authorities in Stockholm.
