On 16 May 2026, Ambassador Sarimah Akbar attended the Scandinavia Islamic Arts and Calligraphy Exhibition held in Spånga, Stockholm. Jointly organised by the Restu Foundation and Sakina Förlag AB, the event served as a key component of the global 1 Million Waqf Quran initiative, aimed to promote Islamic arts, Quranic literacy, and greater cultural understanding among diverse communities. The event successfully gathered approximately 150 guests comprising members of the diplomatic corps, local community and representatives from various organisations.
The exhibition featured a wide range of Islamic artistic and educational materials, including exquisite Islamic calligraphy artworks produced by talented Malaysian artists, interactive Arabic calligraphy demonstrations, as well as educational modules highlighting the integration of Quranic values with Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education.
The Embassy of Malaysia extends its congratulations to Restu Foundation and Sakina Förlag AB for the successful organisation of the exhibition and their continued efforts in promoting intercultural understanding through arts and education.
