On 20 April 2026, the Ambassadors of the ASEAN Committee in Stockholm (ACS) undertook a working visit to IKEA in Älmhult, Sweden.
The ACS Ambassadors met with Ms. Fredrika Inger, Managing Director of IKEA Sweden, and engaged in discussions on IKEA’s expanding presence in Southeast Asia and the strategic importance of the region. In particular, the exchange focused on developments in product innovation, supply chain resilience, as well as the company’s long-term strategic direction towards 2030.
Additionally, the delegation was given the opportunity to visit the prototype shop and participate in a guided tour of the IKEA Museum. Currently, Malaysia plays a significant role in IKEA’s regional operations, hosting several retail outlets as well as a full-scale distribution centre that facilitates the flow of IKEA products to stores across ASEAN countries, Australia and India.
