The Embassy of Malaysia in Stockholm would like to inform Malaysian citizens residing in Norway that the Norwegian Government had announced on 24 July 2014 that individuals affiliated with an extreme Islamist group in Syria may have the intention of carrying out a terrorist act in Norway over the coming days. The Norwegian police currently has no specific information on who is behind this planned attack, the target of the attack or how it will be carried out.
2. The Norwegian police have implemented several measures in order to prevent a possible attack based on the threat evaluation.
3. Given this development, the Malaysian Embassy recommends that all Malaysian citizens in Norway exercise extra caution and vigilant in the coming days. If you see anything suspicious, please call the Norwegian Police at 02800. For emergencies, please dial 112.
