The PETRONAS SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS to Thai students are now entering its sixth year since the first group of students was awarded the scholarship in 2003. With the awards given on 4 July 2008, a total of 59 Thai students had benefited under the programme.
PETRONAS through their good gesture is providing avenue for the Thai students to pursue their education at the PETRONAS University in Malaysia. PETRONAS’ generosity in extending financial assistance will go a long way in helping the needy and deserving schoolchildren to build a brighter and better future through education. Their contribution to the educational development in Thailand will certainly enhance the existing strong relationship and friendly ties between the two countries.
PETRONAS as a business entity have long been associated with Thailand in the oil and gas sector particularly in the Malaysian-Thai Joint Development Area and now they have moved to establish a strong presence in the retail market in Thailand.
