WORKING VISIT OF THE HONOURABLE DATO’ SERI NOH OMAR,MINISTER OF AGRICULTURE AND AGRO-BASED INDUSTRY,IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE SOUTHEAST ASIA FISHERIES,DEVELOPMENT CENTRE (SEAFDEC),15 - 17 JUNE 2011

 

The Hon. Dato’ Seri Noh Omar led a 10-member delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture and Agro-based Industry of Malaysia to attend the Southeast Asia Fisheries Development Centre (SEAFDEC) which was held at Sofitel Centara Grand Hotel in downtown Bangkok on 15 - 17 June 2011. The delegation was received by Ambassador Dato’ Nazirah Hussain at the Suvarnabhumi Airport upon their arrival on 15 June 2011.
 
2.         In his 3-day visit, Hon. Dato’ Seri Noh Omar also seized the opportunity to visit few places in and around Bangkok which have direct nexus with agriculture industry. Among others, Hon. Dato’ Seri Noh Omar visited the famous Talaad Thai (Thai market) and Chokchai Farm which is known for its quality dairy products. In Bangkok, a briefing and short tour at the Royal Chitralada Project in the Dusit Palace compound was also arranged which accorded the delegation with the opportunity to learn more from the Royal-sponsored programme on agriculture especially in the area of research and developments.  A separate bilateral meeting with his Indonesian counterpart was also arranged on the final day of his visit to Thailand.
