Consul General Mohd Aini attended the Opening Ceremony of Songkran Festival 2008 on the invitation of His Royal Highness Raja Perlis. The event was organized by the Association of Malaysian-Thai Community in Malaysia which is headed by Yang Berhormat Siw Chun a/p Eam, who is also a member of Ahli Dewan Negara. According to YB Siw Chun, there are presently around 60,000 Malaysian-Thai in the country.
