Dinner in Conjunction with the Launching of MISTA (Malaysian International Students Thailand Alumni), 23 December 2009

Malaysian International Students Thailand Alumni (MISTA) was successfully launched at Novotel Hotel, Hatyai on 23 December 2009 as the result of efforts put in by Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia, Consulate General of Malaysia in Songkhla as well as the tireless work of a group of former Thai students graduated from Malaysian universities, led by Dr. Ibrahim Narongraksakhet, a senior lecturer at Prince of Songkhla, Pattani’s Campus  Thais, who has been very active in pushing for the establishment of MISTA, even prior to the formal efforts to lunch the Alumni.

 

Fittingly, Dr. Ibrahim Narongraksakhet has been unanimously elected as the President of MISTA (Malaysia International Students Thailand Alumni).

 

A special dinner programe, held to mark the official launching of MISTA on 23 December 2009 was graced by the presence of several prominent figures, among them Mr. Seri Srihatrai, Vice Governor of Songkhla, Mr. Mohd Aini Atan, Consul Genera of Malaysia in Songkhla, Prof Dr. Virowit, elected Senator for southern Thailand, Mr. Helmy Sulaiman, Director of Malaysian Education Promotion Centre as well as several prominent figures in Thailand society who used to study in Malaysia.

 

The main objective of the establishment of MISTA is to enable the Alumni to work together with the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia, as well as Malaysian Education Promotion Centre overseas, to attract more prospective Thais student to pursue their higher education in Malaysia in the future.
