The Consulate General of Malaysia in Songkhla has been invited by Yala Municipality Office to be a co-organizer of the Melayu Textile Conservation Project – Pakaian Melayu 2023. The program was held from 19-21 May 2023 at Yala Museum, Yala, Thailand. The purpose of the event is to provide a platform to understand the uniqueness of Pakaian Melayu and to give an opportunity to the community to express their creativity and talent in designing the local dress. The program included design competition in fabric/textile, evening dress, ready to wear and wedding dress. A discourse on 'Creative Economy Pakaian Melayu' presented by panels from Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia had given good knowledge to public who attended the session. The organizer also offered free booth to promote textile/fabric product by fabric maker/vendor and participated in Fashion Show by the designers/brand owners from Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia.
