The Consulate General of Malaysia, Songkhla with the cooperation of Ministry of Education and Ministry of Foreign Affairs Thailand co-hosted the handing over ceremony of the 59 Thai students who would pursue their secondary level studies in Malaysia in Sekolah Menengah Agama Persekutuan, Kajang and Sekolah Menengah Agama Persekutuan Labu, N. Sembilan. The ceremony took place at 1000 hrs on 31 March 2008 in BP Samila Beach and Resort Hotel, Songkhla.
During the ceremony, Malaysia was represented by Director General of the Ministry of Education, Malaysia Y.Bhg. Dato' Alimuddin Mohd Dom, Consul General of Malaysia in Songkhla and 7 officials from the Education Ministry. In turn, Thailand was represented by the Director of Asian Division, MFA in Bangkok, Director of Foreign Relations Affairs of the Ministry of Education in Bangkok and Director of Education Office in Songkhla.
