The Consulate General of Malaysia in Istanbul has organized a Malaysian brunch event “Nasi Lemak, Roti Canai and Teh Tarik Session” in Beyoğlu, Istanbul on 11 November 2023.
The brunch was attended by Turkish media, social influencers, the Istanbul diplomatic corps, and the Malaysian diaspora with support from Beyoglu Municipality and Malaysian government agencies in Istanbul.
As part of food diplomacy, the "Nasi Lemak, Roti Canai and Teh Tarik Session” showcased Malaysia's culinary delights and uniqueness to further increase the understanding of Malaysian multi-cultural among Turkish friends. The brunch also brought the Malaysian diaspora in Istanbul and nearby vicinities closer together.
This event is part of a series of programs planned in Istanbul, to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of Malaysia–Turkiye Bilateral relations which will be celebrated next year. This program's objective is to harness the synergy between Malaysian citizen living in Istanbul and their Turkish friends and community.
