1. Passport Renewal

A new passport application must be made to replace the soon-to-be expired passport (at least six (6) months before the expiration date). On top of that, an application for a new Malaysian Passport must be made in person at:

The list of requirements are as follows:

No	Documents to be submitted
1.	1 set of Passport Application Forms (IM.42-Pin.1/97) The document can be obtained either by downloading it from https://www.imi.gov.my/index.php/muat-turun-borang/ or by visiting the Consulate General office.
2.	Malaysian International Passport with a validity of at least 6 months before the expiry date. Original and one photocopy of the front page A photocopy of the latest entry page to Turkey
3.	Malaysian Identity Card (original and one photocopy)
4.	Valid Turkish Residence Permit (original and one photocopy)
5.	Applicant’s thump print before the Consular Officer
6.	Two (2) colour photographs with a white background, size 3.5 cm x 5.0 cm
7.	Fee
8.	Additional Documents For Children Under 18 years old:- Birth Certificate (original and one photocopy) - for Malaysians under the age of 12 years. Father or guardian permit endorsement to apply for passport renewal (The document can be obtained by downloading it from www.imi.gov.my or visiting the Consulate General office.) Parents’ Passports (original and one photocopy of front pages each) Parents’ Malaysian Identity Cards (original and one photocopy each) Parents’ Turkish Residence permit Card (Malaysians only) Work Permit/Study Permit/ Tourist (original and one photocopy each) Parents’ Marriage Certificate (original and 2 photocopies) Fee

Important Note: The passport renewal process takes approximately 2-3 months from submission.

2. Loss of Malaysian International Passport

Report of the loss must be made in person immediately AFTER lodging an official report with the local police authorities at:

No	Documents to be submitted
1.	One (1) copy of ‘Borang Soal Selidik Kehilangan Passport Malaysia (Im.42c)’ . One (1) copy of ‘Borang Daftar Kehilangan/ Kerosakan Bagi PMA Yang Masih Sah Laku’. One (1) copy of ‘Borang Kenyataan’ The document can be obtained either by downloading it from https://www.imi.gov.my/index.php/muat-turun-borang/ or by visiting the Consulate General office.
2.	Copy of lost passport
3.	Malaysian Identity Card (original and one photocopy)
4.	Police Report must be translated into English and notarized by the local authority
5.	Two (2) colour photographs with a white background, size 3.5 cm x 5.0 cm

3. Emergency Certificate

An emergency certificate is a travel document issued to a Malaysian who wants to travel due to the loss of a passport/expiry of a passport to Malaysia only (one-way journey). It is not a passport, and it is solely used to facilitate the holder's return to Malaysia only.

4.	Confirmed flight ticket travel back to Malaysia – please refer to the Consular Officer if you have not made a reservation yet to verify your flight route.
5.	Applicant’s thump print before the Consular Officer
6.	Two (2) colour photographs with a white background, size 3.5 cm x 5.0 cm
