4. Visa Information For Foreign Citizens To Enter Malaysia

4.1 WITHOUT coming to the Consulate General/Embassy of Malaysia, you are recommended to apply for the Single Entry Visa/ Multiple Entry Visa/ Visa Without Reference/ Visa With Reference through the MYVisa system (eVISA) as a tourist/ Student / Expatriate / Medical / Foreign Worker. The guidelines to obtain the eVisa online are as follows:

a) You may proceed to apply for the eVISA via https://malaysiavisa.imi.gov.my/evisa/evisa.jsp

b) It takes 2 working days to process.

c) Once it is approved, your eVISA should be printed in an A4 format, either in colour or black and white.

d) The eVisa application is only authorised by the Malaysian Immigration Department. 4.2 Another alternative is to apply a visa (SEV/ MEV) through the Consulate General of Malaysia Office.  the requirements are as follows:

a) Passport - Original and one (1) photocopy of passport pages showing personal particulars, validity and holder's signature. It must be valid for more than six (6) months from the arrival date in Malaysia, with more than three (3) blank pages. (Kindly renew your passports if these conditions still need to be met).

b) Two (2) copies of an identical and recent colour photograph of the applicant taken within the last three (3) months. [Size 5 cm x 3.5 cm].

c) Valid Turkish Foreign Identity Card - Original and one (1) copy

d) Proof of accommodation in Malaysia (Hotel reservation/ Rental Agreement under the applicant's name) ;

e) Confirmed RETURN/ROUND E-ticket for flight to Malaysia [one (1) copy].

g) Provide a copy of your complete itinerary for your stay in Malaysia;

h) Provide a confirmation letter from your employer/company stating your monthly leave/ holiday plans (Please email it to ist.cons@kln.gov.my)

i) The fee is MYR 20 or TRY125.00 per SEV (subject to change - refer to the monthly currency exchange); and

j) Other supporting documents (if any).

Notes:

  • Visa applications will only be accepted in person at the Embassy/Consulate General's Consular counter. Application by post will not be accepted;
  • Up to three (3) working days or more to process each application;
  • All photocopies are required to be made on A4-size paper.
  • Approval to grant entry and to apply for a student/ employment/ extended pass is at the discretion of the Malaysian Immigration Department.

 

4.3       For the ordinary Afghanistan passport holder, the applicant needs to obtain an approval letter to enter Malaysia with a reference number from the Malaysian Immigration Department in Malaysia before getting a visa from the High Commission/Embassy/Consulate General of Malaysia abroad.  On this matter, the process is as follows:

  1. If you are planning to work in Malaysia, you are required to obtain it through a sponsor (Registered Company in Malaysia) or 
  2. If you are planning to further your studies in Malaysia, you need to apply through the University in Malaysia and register in the Education Malaysia Global Service (EMGS) system (https://visa.educationmalaysia.gov.my/) or
  3. If you are planning to travel to Malaysia as a tourist, you need to hire an agent/sponsor in Malaysia to apply to the Malaysian Immigration Department in Malaysia;

4.4 Students who obtained the approval letter for visa application issued by the EMGS (https://visa.educationmalaysia.gov.my/) or the Expatriate from the Expatriate Services Division (https://esd.imi.gov.my/portal/)  could apply for a visa through our office and the requirement are as follows:   

  1. The approval letter for visa application issued by the Malaysian Immigration Office/ ESD portal/ EMGS official website  (PERMISSION/APPROVAL LETTER FOR VISA APPLICATION or all related documents)
  2. Passport - Original and one (1) photocopy of passport pages showing personal particulars, validity and holder's signature. It must be valid for more than six (6) months from the arrival date in Malaysia, with more than three (3) blank pages. (Kindly renew your passports if these conditions are not met).

4.5 All foreign travellers must complete the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) via this link (https://imigresen-online.imi.gov.my/mdac/main) within 3 days before departure. Then, show the MDAC registration and verify your passport at the Immigration counter.
