DIPLOMATIC FUN FAIR The High Commission of Malaysia in Pretoria joined some 60 other countries in the Diplomatic Fun Fair on Saturday, 29 October 2016. The event was organised by the Department of International Relations and Cooperation, South Africa, and was held at the ground of the Unions Building Pretoria from 0800 hours to 1700 hours. It featured booths by diplomatic missions, stage performance by some of the participating countries and local acts. This year, the Malaysian booth displayed Malaysian food prepared by PERWAKILAN which was also for sale, namely tomato rice, chicken satay, vegetable spring rolls, curry puffs, fish crackers, cookies and shaved ice (ABC). The food attraction and the appeal of the ABC on a sunny day had made our booth very popular among visitors. The ABC which was prepared on the spot caught their attention, most of whom had never seen it before. Officers of Tourism Malaysia were busy taking enquiries by visitors and handing out tourism brochures. The event was publicised in the electronic and social media and was well-visited by the local community.
