In the sporting spirit that brings ‘Keluarga Malaysia’ together, a badminton friendly match was organised by the Embassy on 9 March 2022 at the Sports Arena, Baku Oxford School participated by Malaysian diaspora residing in Baku. H.E. Dato’ Yubazlan Yusof, Ambassador of Malaysia to Baku, Republic of Azerbaijan officiated the event and played in the first round of the badminton game. H.E. Dato’ Ambassador teamed up with officer from Petronas under the Team A and played against the Team B represented by spouses of other HBSes.
The three-hour session was well received by Malaysian community since the last event held due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The badminton friendly match was part of the initiatives of the Embassy to strengthen the bond of friendship and solidarity among Malaysians under the ‘Keluarga Malaysia’ concept through various events and programmes.
