Ambassador of Malaysia Presents Letter of Credence to President Xi Jinping

On 30 January 2024, His Excellency Dato' Norman Muhamad, Ambassador of Malaysia to the People’s Republic of China, presented his Letter of Credence to His Excellency Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China. The Ceremony was held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. H.E Ambassador Norman was accompanied by Mrs. Norfarina Mohd Azmee, Deputy Chief of Mission to the ceremony. Ambassador Dato' Norman now serves as the 13th Malaysian Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China.

Malaysia-China diplomatic ties have witnessed remarkable progress since its establishment in 1974. Since then, the strong and substantial relations have been reflected in a plethora of all-round cooperation between both countries. 2024 marks the 50th anniversary of Malaysia-China diplomatic relations. China continued to be Malaysia’s largest trading partner for 15 consecutive years since 2009, representing 17.1% share of Malaysia’s total trade.
