H.E. Dato’ Norman Muhamad, Ambassador of Malaysia to China, accompanied by Mr. Harris Alwi, Consul General of Malaysia in Guangzhou and other delegation, held an inaugural meeting with Madam Cao Saixian, Director General of the Foreign Affairs Office of Shenzhen, at the Shenzhen Municipal Government Office on 23 January 2026. Both sides exchanged views on strengthening Malaysia–China bilateral relations, trade and people-to-people exchanges, preparations for APEC Shenzhen 2026, and potential cooperation in ethical (Islamic) financing, while reaffirming their commitment to close coordination and continued cooperation between Malaysia and Shenzhen.
