On 2 June, 2026, the Consulate General of Malaysia in Guangzhou received a courtesy call by a delegation from the Guangdong Provincial Association of Overseas and Domestic Guangdong Hakka, led by its Executive Vice President and Secretary-General, Mr. Zhong Wendong. Both sides exchanged views on enhancing cooperation between Malaysia and Guangdong Province in the areas of trade, investment, agriculture, tourism and cultural exchanges, including opportunities to promote Malaysian agricultural products in Southern China.
