ASEAN CONSUL GENERALS' MEETING

Realising the need to be united under the ASEAN banner, all 7 Consulate Generals of ASEAN Countries gathered together for their first ever official meeting held on the 25 January 2011 at the Chancery Office of the Consulate General of Indonesia. The formalisation meeting of this ASEAN Consuls General Grouping in Guangzhou has created history for ASEAN in Guangdong. Among the issues discussed during the first meeting were the needs for each ASEAN Consulate to cooperate among them in areas of common interest as well as for citizens of each ASEAN Nations in Guangzhou to hold a gathering in line with the ASEAN Community objectives. During the meeting, the Consul General of Malaysia, Mr. Francisco Munis opined that such cooperation will further boost the presence of ASEAN in Guangdong.
