The Consulate General of Malaysia, Guangzhou had successfully organised the Consul General Cup Golf Tournament on the 19 November 2011. The Tournament was held at the Lakewood Golf and Country Club Zhuhai. About 40 participants from Malaysia and invited guests from China and Hong Kong participated in the tournament.

The Consul General of Malaysia, Mr. Francisco Munis launched the tournament. After the tournament, all the participants gathered together for lunch and ended the event with a prize giving session. The Consul General in his remark thanked all the participants and voluntary sponsors for their interest and contributions to the golf event and stressed that such event had helped to nurture friendship between Malaysians and created networking with their Chinese associates. Most of the participants were glad to have met new friends during the event.

The objectives of the tournament which are to further enhance the existing relationship between Malaysians residing in Guangdong and in promoting further the networking amongst them with invited Chinese guests were successfully achieved. With the success of the 2011 Tournament, it is hope that the tournament can be held annually starting from this year as part of the Consulate General’s public diplomacy activity.
