The Hari Raya Open House, hosted by Consul General of Malaysia in Guangzhou, Mr. Roslan Abdul Rahman which was held on Monday, 21st September 2009 at his official Residence.
About 60 guests consisting of Home Base Staff officials, Local Recruited Staff, members of the diplomatic corps and fellows Malaysians joined the gathering.

While many locals were seen tucking into the spread of local favourites like rendang daging, rendang ayam, nasi himpit, kuah kacang, nasi beriyani, ayam masak merah and fruit, there were also a handful of international visitors who came to partake in the festivities. They also had a great time trying out the local delicacies, especially the cakes and the desserts like curry puffs and traditional kuih. Despite being far away from their homes and missing their respective families, overseas Muslim Malaysians celebrated Hari Raya Aidilfitri with the same joy and sense of belonging. Hari Raya Aidilfitri is not just a celebration. It is a wake up call to all Muslims to fill the day with forgiveness, a caring spirit, and gratitude. A memorable gathering indeed !
