On the occasion of Hari Sukan Negara 2024, the Consulate General of Malaysia in Guangzhou organized a Friendly Badminton Carnival on 12 October 2024. Some 150 Malaysians participated in the event with special participation by officials from the Foreign Affairs Office of Guangdong and Shenzhen, as part of the on-going celebration of 50 years of Malaysia-China diplomatic relations. The event was kicked off by a speech from the Consul General of Malaysia to Guangzhou, Madam Suraya
Pauzi. The event was also attended by DDG of FAO Guangdong, Madam Helen Qian, Information Consul Tan Chee Keong, Trade Consul Haris Abdul Latiff, Tourism Consul Aaron Gan and Malaysian Chambers Guangdong President JS Kwan. Besides the competition, there was a badminton clinic for children; free play; and Malaysian food for all attendees prepared by the PERWAKILAN Guangzhou. There were five categories in the competition. The results of the badminton carnival were as follows:
