The Consulate General of Malaysia in Guangzhou wishes to advise all Malaysian to ensure that their stay and activities in Guangdong, Fujian, Hainan, Jiangxi and Hunan are legally done. Malaysians should take necessary steps to ensure the, where appropriate before or after entering these provinces the following:
a) You have the appropriate visa for your entry and abide by the length of stay as accorded to you and not to overstay without extension;
b) You have the necessary working/study permit before undertaking any employment or studies;
c) You have the proper permit, licenses and approval before establishing or commencing your businesses;
d) You have the approved documentation ready before entering into marriage, business, trade, investment etc. ventures with local partners;
e) Your passport is always valid for at least 6 months before its expiration date; and
f) In addition to the above, please also observe the laws relating to custom, finance and other by-laws currently in enforcement.
Please be informed that effective 1 May 2011, the Government of the Province of Guangdong will enforce a new ruling governing foreigners in Guangdong. Those who are found to violate any clauses of the newly implemented regulation will be subjected to legal action by the respective local authorities. In order to ensure that your stay in Guangdong is trouble free, please abide by the local laws at any given time while you’re in Guangdong.
