The Executive Vice Governor of the Guangdong Province, H.E. Xu Shaohua undertook a visit to the State of Malacca from 20-23 November 2015. The visit was planned to coincide with the Official Visit of His Excellency Li Keqiang, Premier of the State Council’s visit to Malaysia which took place about the same time.
During the 3-day visit, H.E. Xu met with YAB Ir. Hj. Datuk Seri Idris Haron, the Chief Minister of the State of Malacca whom also hosted a dinner for H.E. Xu and the delegation. H.E. Xu’s visit to Melaka comes less than three months after the visit of Guangdong Governor’s visit to Melaka. This reflects the importance the Guangdong Government attaches to its relation with Malacca and its commitment to further strengthen bilateral relations.
H.E. Xu and delegation was given a briefing about the port development projects in Malacca and also undertook a site visit to key port areas in the State. On 22 November, H.E. Xu and delegation joined Premier Li’s entourage during the latter’s visit to Malacca which included visit to, among others Jonker Street, Museum of Admiral Zheng He and the Melaka Gateway project.
