Ladies and gentlemen, dear friends,
Assalam’ mualaikum and a very good morning.
Firstly, I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to the organizer of today’s event for inviting me to join you all here today. This is the fourth Guangdong 21st Maritime Silk Road International Expo. I am grateful that I have so far managed to participate in all four edition of the Expo especially for the launching of the Malaysian Pavilion.
Since the first edition of the Expo in 2014, Malaysian exhibitors has always given its strong support to the Guangdong initiative by being the largest foreign participants’ year in and year out. This year is no different with more than 340 Malaysian exhibitors and companies setting up booth here. I appreciate the coordinated effort by all the parties involve namely, Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce (MCCC) led by Mr. Loo Kok Seong, Malaysia China Friendship Association, Malaysia-China International Trade Link Association, Malaysia-Dongguan Association and Malaysia-China International Cultural & Economic Development Association for bringing everyone here together under one banner.
Ladies and gentlemen,
I was told that many of the Malaysian exhibitors and buyers present at this Expo are very divest ranging from those involved in the food and agriculture products, education, health and health related products, tourism, property and many others. China, being the world second largest economy with the world biggest population, naturally presents many opportunities to Malaysian entrepreneurs.
However, in our haste to penetrate this lucrative market, I would like to remind everyone that we should always ensure that the products and services being offered by Malaysians must be of the highest quality, at a reasonable and competitive value. The Malaysian brand has established well in China and we should strive to build further confidence and win over the Chinese consumers.
Having said the above, I would like to wish all the Malaysian exhibitors and buyers here, a productive and fruitful outcome throughout your participation at this expo. To all our Chinese friends, please take time to go around to sample Malaysian products available here and also some of the cultural display brought in from Malaysia.
Before I end, I wish all my fellow Muslim friends Salam Maal Hijrah.
Thank you everyone again for your kind presence today.
