PRESENTATION OF WOODEN CARVING OF PAHLAWAN SANGKUH TO THE GUANGDONG GOVERNMENT AT THE FOREIGN AFFAIRS MUSEUM IN GUANGZHOU ON 20 MARCH 2017

As a gesture of goodwill and to foster closer ties between Malaysia and Guangdong Province, the Consulate General of Malaysia presented a wooden carving of Pahlawan Sangkuh (Iban warrior) made of timber from Sarawak State, Malaysia to the Guangdong Foreign Affairs Office. A simple presentation ceremony was held at the Foreign Affairs Museum in Guangzhou on 20 March 2017 during which Mr. Muzambli Markam, the Consul General handed over the wooden frame carving to Mr. Chen Qiuyan, Director General of the Guangdong Foreign Affairs Office.   

 

2.         Also present at the event were the other home based staff from the Consulate General, various officials from the Guangdong Foreign Affairs Office and the Curator of the Foreign Affairs Museum. The wooden carving will be display prominently in the two-story building museum located on Shamian Island, Guangzhou.
