On 30 April 2013, the Consul General, Mr. Francisco Munis hosted a dinner in honour of Mr. Wang Da Ming who retired as Driver / Messenger from the Locally Recruited Staff Service Scheme. Mr. Wang Da Ming served the Consulate General of Malaysia in Guangzhou from 10 May 1994 – 30 April 2013. As a token of appreciation to Mr. Wang, the Consul General on behalf of the Malaysian Government also presented a plaque and certificate of appreciation as well as testimonial letter. The dinner was also attended by both Home Based Staff and Locally Recruited Staff.
During his employment as a driver/messenger with the Consulate General of Malaysia in Guangzhou, Mr. Wang had shown commendable dedication and commitment to duties and responsibilities entrusted to him. In his 19 years of service with the Consulate General of Malaysia in Guangzhou, he had served under seven Consuls General of Malaysia and worked with a number of officials and local colleagues. The long service he had reflects his personal qualities and loyalty. Mr. Wang’s retirement was due to the mandatory retirement age of 60. In his speech, the Consul General highlighted that for his untiring service to the Consulate General of Malaysia in Guangzhou, Mr. Wang is considered as a true Friend of Malaysia.
