On 10 March 2015, Mr. Muzambli Markam, the Consul General of Malaysia undertook a working visit to the Centre of Malaysia-China Relations, Jinan University in Guangzhou. He was accompanied by Mr. Nagandran Arumugam, Vice Consul.
During the visit, the Consul General was received by Prof. Tang Chong, Director of the Centre for Malaysia-China Relations and was given a brief tour of the centre. The Consul General and Vice Consul also met with Prof. Deng Yiwen, Director of Institute if Southeast Asian Studies and Prof. Chen Yiping, Vice Dean of the School of International Studies and Academy of Overseas Chinese Studies, Jinan University. During the meeting, the Consul General discussed possibilities for the Consulate General to support and cooperate closely with the Centre to carry out activities in pursuit of advancing Malaysia-China relations, particularly in Guangdong.
The Center which was launched on 12 December 2014 aims to promote a closer ties and create a better understanding between Malaysia and China, particularly at the people-to-people level encompassing various fields of mutual interest including education, culture and socio-politics.
